Naturism? Forget it!

Well guys, after having tried to revive my blog at wordpress for a little more than a year, I think I am going to close my blog, because I’ve realised that naturism is plain stupid, and it’s not worth the effort. I don’t know what’s been wrong with me…

First of all, I don’t understand how one could even think of uncovering their bodies. Obviously, a human body is one of the scariest things in the universe! That’s why plain nudity is forbidden on YouTube and is listed together with drug abuse and violence among the main factors for movie ratings…
Dr Manhattan
Because people, especially children, may be horrified by the sight of a human body uncovered!

And even if you are a brave one and have decided to see someone naked, don’t expect to see anything good! Why do you think we buy clothes to our beloved as a present?
Because we want to cover them with as much clothes as possible! And better all at the same time!

And that is why all celebrities are fighting against paparazzi who take pictures of them when they are naked on vacations

Orlando Bloom naked with Katy Perry

or at home…

Brad Pitt naked

As then we may see how ugly they are and shall never want to see them again, no make up would help!

Madonna nude
And of course, if paparazzi do find your naked pics, you can forget about politics!
Arnold Schwarzenegger naked

And naturism is also boring! You can’t really do anything without clothes. Well, you can sunbathe. They say the first Olympics were done in the buff, but who would sponsor the athletes if they couldn’t wear sport brands? And isn’t it just nice to feel your body sweat in the clothes? You should try it next time you’re on a beach!

Naturism is against our civilization! You need parks and beaches for naturism. Instead, we could build more parkings and hotels!

under construction

I hope many readers of this blog are longing for new posts already, but unfortunately I have been busy with too many things.

Just one of the things is the renovation of my boyfriend’s flat which he now has to continue alone while I am heading to my parents in Ukraine… but at least I’ve contributed something.
Another reason why there hasn’t been much posted recently is because I actually have so much new material that I really need some time to prepare it well…
And my boy has to give me some photos, new and old (from the last year), so keep in touch!

KIRIN NUDA (Japanese refreshment?)

… It’s quite interesting that my last post was written on the other side of the Pacific Ocean and I am again dreaming of visiting natural hot springs. So I am in Tokyo now, it rains not less than during my trip to Oregon in the end of May, but at least it is quite hot now (+28C max, +24C at night), even the rain is warm so it doesn’t bother much. So you’d think the only good clothes in such conditions would be no clothes at all, but of course you wouldn’t dare to go naked in the city. So once in a while you have to experience the discomfort of the wet clothes, both from rain and sweat…

There is not much nature left around this huge and buzzing metropole, but I will try to escape somewhere. Somewhere like Izu peninsula, where I discovered the joy of natural hot springs (onsen) on my previous visit to Japan four years ago…
But for now I am just enjoying some fresh sea food in my room, and look what kind of peculiar Japanese refreshing beverage I have!
I thought I’d have to take a picture with it! It practically says my name and that I’m nude, haha. Well, it seems my blog has found a candidate for sponsoring 😉

in Oregon now

I am in Portland now, and the weather is dreadful! I thought of going biking+camping on the weekend to visit natural hot springs (they are especially tempting in such weather), but it’s probably to cold to sleep in a tent (it is about +5…+7ºC at night), especially if I get wet while riding the bike… A car would help, but I can’t drive 😦 OK, getting driver’s license is on must-do list for the summer!

I don’t want to miss such wonders as Cougar hot springs, just look at these photos I’ve found at Panoramio:

Ah, I so want to repeat that amazing experience of natural hot springs that I had on Izu peninsula in Japan… Well, if not here in Oregon, then hopefully when I am again in Japan in July. There, it was possible to reach the onsens (hot springs) by public transport…

looking forward to NYC but…

So I am in the Big Apple now for a job interview and it’s almost sure now that I can get the job… One thing that really concerns me is rent for apartments here…

Then, tomorrow I would like to go to some naturist beach in the area, which would be either Gunnison Bay or on Fire Island, but such a trip costs 40 bucks at least! It’s certainly not something I’d do every weekend if I lived here! Nothing like going to an FKK place after work in Berlin, or a single bus ride to a nude beach in Athens

PS By the way I’ll make a post summarizing naturist places around Athens soon, keep in touch!

NO BUTTS on the beach!

We’ve been writing a lot here about all those wonderful beaches and other places to hang out naked, but there is one thing that often bothers us: garbage, especially cigarette butts!

Isn’t it strange, that so many people are able to bring food and beverages to the beach but are not able to take empty plastic bags and bottles with them?
And it is really annoying to lie down in the sand/on the rocks after a refreshing swimming session and smell tobacco instead of the clear sea air. As if inhaling the smoke from neighboring smokers is not enough, some of them seem to find it totally normal to throw cigarette butts just around them.
Or they think that the holes in the rocks are perfect natural ashtrays.
Please, if you do so, try to think again, whether it’s ok for environment and your neighbors!
All butts are welcome at the beach, but not those of cigarettes 😉

Naked chef

Last week I had my first outdoor naturist experience of 2010: I jogged naked on some lonely trails ofGrunewald. But it is still quite chilly and the forest looks pretty much the same as when we visited it last October when I finished writing my thesis

So while it was cold outside, there wasn’t much naturist activity going on. But there is one thing that we do, have to do and like to do at any weather conditions: it’s eating.
Noteveryone likes cooking though, but I really do. And sometimes this activity requires some clothes, especially if you fry on the olive oil! Well, but there is no contradiction to the naturist lifestyle if you have such an apron like this one 😎
Nice souvenir from Italy 😉 I think I cooked something Italian on these photos, but I like to try all kinds of recipes from all over the world and of course don’t forget my native Ukrainian and Russian food…
By the way, since naturism is usually associated with a healthy and environmentally friendly way of life, I wonder if indeed naturists eat healthier food in general. We eat just regular food but certainly avoid fast food most of the time. I’ve found some videos of this elegant nude chef from South Africa, Sharon Picone, who certainly looks very healthy and is active in propaganda of vegan food and naturism.

Naturist dreams

As some readers with whom I maintain personal contact know, I broke my foot in the end of November. So I couldn’t maintain practically any activities, let alone naturist ones. I hope this week I will get rid of the plaster on my foot and will not need crutches anymore! Let’s see what the doctor says.

Though in any case there is not much to do in winter. So I am already dreaming of summer. Besides all the things I’ve already mentioned I (would) like to do, there is one tantalizing image that keeps appearing in my head. I want to find a big poppy field and run in the red sea of the blossoming plants.
PS It’s not me on the pics 🙂

small beach near Syvota in north-western Greece

The area of north-western Greece to the south of Igoumenitsa (Ηγουμενίτσα) provides many secluded beaches and flat rocks for a quiet relaxation au naturel… or rock-diving, if you prefer.

We went from Ioannina, passing through picturesque mountainous landscapes, and camped at a small beach close to Syvota (Σύβοτα). Like at most of the Greek beaches, you won’t see any signs for nudists there and when we arrived there in the late afternoon none was clothes-free. At night, however, when others left and the temperature was still very warm, there was no reason to remain clad. When I went for a night swim, something truly special happened: as I always swim in goggles (the only thing I like to wear while swimming ;-)), I could see that my body left thousands of tiny sparkling traces in the water – it looked like golden ‘stardust’ that fairies leave when they fly around, so I called myself an underwater fay. In Sweden there is an annual competition for water fairies who play different music instruments standing in the river. Then I think in Greece there should be the next stage of the competition: for water fairies dancing in the sea at night! Then spectators will have to submerge as well, but it is not a problem, since in August the average night temperature in Greece is warmer than the average day temperature in Sweden and the sea stays warm… Biological explanation for this phenomenon is that bioluminescent plankton, which is abundant in the Mediterranean in the late summer, responds to mechanical disturbance with glowing.

When we woke up in the morning I already felt confident enough to stay naked but when I got out of the tent I saw that there was a straight couple and the man was also sans clothes. Then we swam to the rocks and jumped from them (see the video above). That man also came there and showed us a better dive. He was a friendly French guy and suggested us to show how to dive. Well, I tried just from less than half of the height of those rocks and wasn’t very successful 😦 Hope I’ll learn to dive from such height next year!

When we returned there was another couple, Greeks, who looked at us; probably they didn’t expect to see naked people there, and I thought it might be uncomfortable for them, but in fact soon they disrobed completely as well. So until a yacht with a big italian family arrived, the beach had become mostly naturist =)

And small pebbles of the beach were also perfect to try out a slingshot which I bought in Ioannina (it is sold there as a souvenir for some reason).

Don’t worry, I wouldn’t use it against this beautiful Scarce Swallowtail but rather to protect from the aggressive textile invaders 😀
