пляжи мыса Фиолент в Севастополе

Фиолент, пожалуй, самый красивый пляж Севастополя. Почти что средиземноморская растительность (пляж обращён к югу и окружён отвесными скалами, что создаёт особый микроклимат), лазурная прозрачная вода и чистый песок с галькой выделяют этот пляж на фоне всех остальных в окрестностях. Когда я там побывал впервые в 2005, Фиолент относился к категории природоохранных территорий и число посетителей было ограничено. В 2010, однако, такого контроля уже не было, что с одной стороны сделало процесс посещения проще, но с другой пляжи оказались довольно переполнены…

Так или иначе, посетителям приходится спускаться по сотням ступенек, поскольку эти пляжи находятся на весьма скалистом побережье. Добираться общественным транспортом можно от ЦУМа на автобусах №19 и 72 или на троллейбусах №2, 12, 13, 17, 20 из центра до 5 км, затем пересесть на маршрутку до Фиолента.

Если вы пойдёте на т.н. Царский пляж с западной стороны мыса Фиолент, приготовьтесь к умопомрачительным видам на Чёрное море.

На закате, цвета просто необыкновенные!

Нудистская часть находится за скалой, которая даже помечена соответствующей надписью.

Этот пляж крупно-галечный, так что отлёживаться там не так уж и удобно – зато лишний повод поплавать побольше. А там и есть на что посмотреть под водой!

Подводные камни покрыты самыми разными бурыми, зелёными и красными водорослями, а также мшанками.

Столько раков-отшельников я больше нигде не видел.

Жаль только у них не было никакого желания позировать перед моим фотоаппаратом…

Зато удалось запечатлеть гребневика; причём при продвижении вперёд по нему самому пробегают многоцветные волны, хотя само тело прозрачное.

А если вы пойдёте на пляж с восточной стороны, Яшмовый, виды, пожалуй, ещё более живописные,

с небольшим монастырём слева.

Монахи наверное установили большой крест на островке напротив пляжа.

Учитывая консерватизм православной церкви, я надеюсь они не сильно возмущаются по поводу того, что часть Яшмогого пляжа не предусматривает обязательное использование купальных костюмов 😉 На самом деле, я сам был так впечатлён видом с крестом, что мне казалось я мог по воде ходить!

Так и быть, раскрою секрет: там есть подводная скала, которая только чуток не достигает поверхности.

А вот как пляж смотрится с островка.

Неофициальная нудистская часть пляжа “скрывается” за скалой с надписью “Нудный пляж”.

К сожалению, это была не единственная надпись. Также там была весьма агрессивная надпись гомофобного содержания, на сей раз даже с переводом на английский. Причём её явно не раз удаляли и перекрашивали. Надеюсь это не является проявлением борьбы между разными посетителями пляжа, а просто выходка одного идиота.

В любом случае, на тот момент всё было тихо-мирно.

Далее по пути там была скала покрытая тонким слоем стекающей пресной воды, которой а не преминул освежиться.

И я там был такой не единственный.

Ещё дальше от пляжа находятся скалы контрастных цветов,

которые смотрятся особенно красиво с воды.

Водоросли, мшанки и моллюски особенно выделяются на фоне белой меловой скалы.

Ещё на той подводной скале я увидел двух интересных животных по соседству: морскую собачку и крупную креветку.

Креветка была прозрачная, но с яркими голубыми, оранжевыми и белыми пятнами.

Такая креветка всем нудистам нудист – не то что за одеждой не скрывается, даже внутренности на показ выставила! 😀

Морская собачка поначалу казалась какой-то хмурой, но потом похвастала яркими плавниками и уплыла.

Так что получился весьма занимательный у меня заплыв. Хотелось бы ещё вернуться туда в поисках морской живности позирующей на меловых скалах!

Bouncing Balls at Sandy Hook

Given the tall height of some of our players and low height of our net, it was sometimes easy to shoot the ball down from just above the net.

There are lots of techniques that we have to learn and practice, and who knows, maybe we’ll be strong enough to participate at the Naked Volleyball Super Bowl? We had success at the “Bouncing Buns” trail race, so maybe we’ll be lucky with bouncing balls too.

After playing a few matches of volleyball, we decided to switch to football. However, we made a smooth transition by first playing (or rather trying to play) footvolley (futêvolei), a pretty new Brazilian sport that combines aspect of volleyball and football. It proved to be very difficult for us, so we moved on to football (soccer).  Inspired by the ongoing World Cup, we might stick to it this Saturday, especially if we get more players, although I’m also keen on playing some touch rugby.

oil-Independence Night in Boston (WNBR)

Last Saturday, Boston had its own edition of the World Naked Bike Ride, when more than 200 people took over its streets.

It’s my 4th city where I’ve done WNBR, but it’s the first one where it takes place at night.

I won’t stop repeating that WNBR is probably the most cheerful and peaceful demonstration against oil-dependency, promoting human-powered modes of transportation as a healthy alternative. It serves as a fun bike tour too, and I think I’m going to make it a tradition to visit new cities for WNBR.

I’m not sure that nigh is the best time of the day for WNBR, as we want to have a bigger impact on public, and Boston is not the city that never sleeps. However, we passed through both sleeping and bustling neighborhoods, with overwhelming support from the street crowd, especially on the streets with bars 🙂

Altogether we were riding for more than 2 hours through Boston downtown and Cambridge in our altogethers!

Given the nightly atmosphere, it was nice to have some bright lights, which a friend of mine gave me as a present after I got hit by car; they are a bit too crazy to use them on a daily (or rather, nightly) basis, but they served just fine for WNBR in NYC and now in Boston, and thanks to them I got on boston.com site – check out the photo gallery with yours truly.

Sandy Hook is undisputedly the favorite summer gathering spot for nudists of New York, New Jersey and even Philly. For New York City dwellers, there is a convenient ferry (rightfully called SeaStreak) that departs at two locations in Manhattan, but the cost ($45) may be discouraging. Luckily, this year there is not just one but two discounted ticket options. After some pressure, SeaStreak has release a coupon for $30, as in previous years.

But this year, you can buy an even cheaper ticket with Groupon for $25, which is limited to only one per account, however. Nonetheless, there are two independent links that allow buying two tickets actually (or is there more?) – go and get ’em:

I’ve written about Sandy Hook on multiple occasions, so just use the “search” option to your right on this website and get inspired for some beach activities. Volleyball is a must, but after playing some touch rugby at Sunny Rest resort, we’d like to add rugby to our beach routine too! Given the ongoing World Cup, football is also on the list. Come and join us 😉 Why naked? Because what’s the purpose of clothes at a summer beach? None! Rugby and soccer players don’t usually wear protective gear anyways (besides mouth guards, but they are not necessary for touch rugby), so what’s the point in wearing anything at all? Run free and enjoy!

Active Naturists team gets gold at the Bouncing Buns trail race :-)

Last weekend my friends and I teamed up for the naked trail race at Sunny Rest naturist resort in Pennsylvania, and we scored two trophies, including the absolute first! Yes, one of us, Casey, ran that tough 6km trail in just 27 min 47 sec. David brought another trophy for the 4th male under 39 years old (8th total).  I was 13th, but I was happy I could run the race at all, as I wasn’t sure how my ankle would feel still not fully recovered from the injury that I got after I was run over by car in January. This was my third year attending the race, and although the route have gotten shorter from 7 to 6km, it has also acquired some steep slopes this time. Probably for this reason, besides the injury, my result was 3min longer than last year despite a shorter track (32:16). It’s a pity another prize-winning ‘Team America’ from last year didn’t show up this time, but there was more than enough competition with 159 participants.

I was also recognized by one of the readers of my blog, who actually said he was inspired by it to participate in the race. This kind of comment is probably the best praise I could expect from my blog, this is what keeps me motivated to run it!

After the award ceremony, we ate lunch and I was glad to find out that the restaurant at Sunny Rest has improved tremendously and offers now a diverse menu of pretty good quality. Then we rested from the race in the pool and hot tub… but not for too long, as we also wanted to play volleyball. We had a few fun matches but needed even more rest afterwards, so we mostly hung out at the sauna and hot tubs in the evening. Next day, our activities started with yoga at the lawn near the tenting site followed by a short hike, partially on the trail that was used for the race.

We also played some touch rugby in the afternoon, inspired by the recent match of Nude Blacks in New Zealand.

We all concluded that we should play it more often, so maybe we’ll build up a team some day. And maybe it will be as successful in rugby as in running? 🙂

Заповедный лес и пляж мыса Мартьян в Крыму

Это одно из немногих мест Южного Берега Крыма, где некогда типичный для этого региона сухой субтропический лес встречается с морем, да ещё и остался в  почти что нетронутом состоянии. Удивительно красивое место, которым можно насладиться будучи и натуристом, и натуралистом! ЮБК это самая северная точка с субтропическим климатом, будучи защищённым от Крымскими горами от северных ветров и благодаря смягчающему зиму Чёрному морю, и на мысе Мартьян это сразу заметно по растительности средиземноморского типа. (В Никитском ботсаду по соседству таких растений ещё больше, но они там не дикие, естественно.)

Типичный пример – земляничное дерево. Я не удержался отдохнуть на низких ветвях одного из них, ведь его свежая гладкая кора приятна на ощупь, будто бархат.

Жаль только плоды ещё не созрели к тому времени!

Свой первый поход в этот заповедник я начинал здесь, где я также уплатил входной билет, но оттуда было нелегко добраться до пляжа через скалы. Уже на пути обратно я обнаружил, что было бы удобней идти по тропе, начиная из другой точки. В любом случае, до отправных точек можно добираться троллейбусом №34 из Ялты в направлении Никитского Ботаничекского Сада.

Когда я добрался до пляжа, мне показалось, что это я нашёл сад Эдема!

И обойда эту вертикальную отдельно стоящую скалу, я увидел мужчину в костюме Адама. Так что я был уверен, что шёл в правильном направлении 😉

Кстати, Заповедник Мыс Мартьян включает в себя не только лес, но и прилегающий участок моря. Многочисленные бакланы, отдыхающие на скалах, указывали на богатство моря.

И действительно, те же скалы под водой были полны живности.

Во второй раз, я пришёл с сестрой. Она хоть и не заядлая нудистка, как я, но её впечатлили фотографии с моего первого похода. Мы попали под дождь, но нам это было не помехой, поскольку всё равно было тепло.

Ну и в конце концов такие дожди поддерживают заповедник с его буйной зеленью даже в разгар лета. После того как облака исчезли за горами,

мы начали лазить по земляничным деревьям.

А потом солнечные лучи вдохновили меня попозировать аля древний бог солнца.

“Солнце”, которое я держал в своих руках, было ничем иным как сладкой крымской дыней, которую мы потом с радостью слопали :р

טיול רגלי בסמוך לנווה מדבר בים המלח

אחרי , יומים של שנירקול במפרץ אילת המשכתי הלאה. התחנה הבאה במסעי ישראל היתה ים המלח. חברה שלי אירחה אותי אצלה בקיבוץ עין גדי (זה אותה החברה שלקחה אותי לחוף געש). הקיבוץ שוכן בשמורת עין גדי השלוה לחופו של ים המלח. הימה המלוחה היא הסיבה העיקרית לטייל במקום. אני ארחיב על ים המלח בפוסט הבא. בשמורה עצמה, המיועדת לטיול של יום שלם ברגל, אפשר לפגוש מגוון יפה של צימחיה מדברית ושערות שולמית. בשמורת עין גדי יש שני מעינות המפכים במשך כל השנה; נחל דוד ונחל ערוגות. נחל דוד הוא המתוייר מבין השניים ולא מומלץ להיסתובב בו בעירום. יש סיכוי גדול שתמצא את עצמך מוקף במטילים המגיעים לשם בטיולים מאורגנים.

בדרך חזרה במפל הגבוהה פגשתי קבוצה קולנית של חרדים צעירים ברובם. למה הם צועקים בשעה שהמקום כל כך רגוע. הצעקות שלהם החרישו את רחשי הטבע. נראה שבישבילם זה טיול לפרק שעשועים והטבע זר להם על מימו ובריכותיו הזקים. הבחנתי פתאום בקבוצת יעלים על ראש הקניון.

הם נראו כאילו הם מהרהרים בליבם ושואלים מה לקבוצה הרעשנית הזאת המשחקת במפל ולמידבר. טוב שהם כל כך רעשנעם. כך אני לא צריך לחשוש לפשוט את בגדי כי הקולות הרמים יודיעו לי מתי הם מתקרבים.

WNBR NYC and Free Form Festival: free, arrested and then freer than ever!

Last Friday, the weather in New York city wasn’t the most cooperative for the World Naked Bike Ride, and yet a couple of dozens of hardiest cyclists showed up at the Grand Ferry Park. We welcomed the thunderstorm by dancing naked in the downpour, and as the rain was calming down, we took off to the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Despite the weather, there were still people on the streets, and we got cheered by pedestrians, other cyclists and car drivers alike! We got some friendly smiles and hand waives even from police. When passers by asked us why we were naked, I replied that skin was waterproof 😉

By the time we got to Washington Square Park, it stopped raining altogether.

I wish New York accepted nudity, at least in parks, and as these rides show, general public doesn’t seem to be opposed to it, once confronted to a cheerful naked crowd.

All of a sudden, we were overtaken  by an undercover police car (disguised as a yellow cab!) and then even more police came and blocked the street. We can only guess why, but they also arrested two of the participants!

It was pleasing to get support from bystanders. One of them shouted that he thought he happened to be in Iran. However, this didn’t stop police, and our two arrestees were detained till next evening! I was very happy about how our ride went last year, and there is no reason why it should have ended so bitter this year. I’m especially puzzled why this happens in seemingly liberal New York. I bet many spectators of our ride on Friday had that “only in New York” moment, but what they probably didn’t realize was that in many cities of the world and US, the World Naked Bike Ride actually attracts many more riders, and what happens only in New York perhaps is that participants of such rides get arrested. Hopefully, it’ll be better next year. And there’re still some more rides this year too, including WNBR Boston next Saturday, June 28 (read this announcement about at Boston Magazine).

 

Last weekend, I went to Free Form Festival at The Schuylkill County Fairgrounds, PA,  and it was a nice and necessary breath of freedom after I witnessed the arrest at WNBR.

This festival celebrates anything positive and artsy, anything that brings people together and raises the spirit, and social nudity is a part of it.

I started off with a naked lunch, which by coincidence seemed to be all Tuscan style – featuring Tuscan salami, Tuscan bean salad, and Tuscan salami – despite I bought those at different places without thinking about it :p

At night, everybody gathered for the effigy burn, and a few people, including me, were dancing naked around. One of the fire spinners got naked too, and had a solo performance on the side. Also, a guy whose dance style was more like Tai Chi got naked too and taught me a couple of principal Tai Chi moves. Then he brought me to a creek with cold water behind the amphitheater. And that was my experience of duality – this year’s theme of Free Form Festival – fire and water, heat and cold, light and darkness…

Hopefully, events like the World Naked Bike Ride and Free Form Festival will make world a more open, accepting and freer place, so that you can feel safe even naked!

צף על המים בים המלח

המסע שלי בחופי ישראל החל בים סוף ומשם לים התיכון ועכשיו הגיע תורו של החוף המיוחד ביותר בישראל (ואולי היחודי ביותר שפגשתי אי פעם) הוא ים המלח.

ים המלח נמצא בנקודה הנמוכה ביותר בעולם כולו ואחד משלושה האגמים המלוחים הקיימים בתבל. ים המלח הוא אתר תיור חשוב בישראל. לימה וססיבותיה יש מטען היסטורי ורוחני עמוק. אבל בסיכומו של דבר אני ממש לא יודע. יש שרואים בים המלח כמקום לשהות קצרצרה בעיקר עם הגעת לשם במסגרת טיול מאורגן באוטובוסים רבי משתתפים. אבל יש גם חופים פחות מתוייירים שבהם אפשר לבלות יותר כי שם משך הזמן הוא אחר זאת בתנאי שתיזרום עם המידבר ותן לו לעשות את שלו.

חברתי החדשה שהמליצה לי על החוף באילת היא זאת שסיפרה לי גם על החוף שלה בים המלח. חוף פיראי ונפלא מול צוקי דרגות.

קו 847 אגד מירושלים לעין דגי תחנה צומת מצוקי דרגות. כך נראית תחנת האוטובוס (בסמוך לה יש עמדה צבאית) שבה עליך לרדת. שים לב שהאוטובוס לא יעצור אם לא תבקש מהנהג. אתה יכול להראות לו את התמונה של התחנה ולבקש ממהו לעצור שם.

לצרי נאלצתי לצאת בגפי ללא החברה. אז אייך היה.

בסרט למטה אתם יכולים להיתרשם מהתחושה של ציפה מרחפת במים הכבדים של ים המלח. התחושה היא יחודית ולא ניתנת לתאור. חייבים להינסות כדי להבין… מומלץ לכולם! זה לא דומה לשום דבר אחר. בקיצור זה נפלא. אבל זה רק צד אחד . הנוף השומם החסוף וחסר החיים של המדבר משרה אוירה של עולם זר ואחר.

מצד אחר – תחושת הריחף בתוספת המים החמימים והמלטפים מכהים את החושים ומשרים אוירה של נוחות ושלווה. תחושה זאת מתעצמת בלילה כשגם חוש הראיה מתעמעם. ריחוף חסר דאגות וכוכבים מנצנצים סחף אותי לתוך הרקיע עצמו…

טוב, באו נשוב למציאות. מומלץ לא לשהות במים המלוחים יותר מדי זמן מחשש להיתיבשות. כאמור בכול הנוגע לבריאות יש לפעול במתינות. יש במים מינרלים רבים העושים פלאות לעור ומשפרים את הבריאות הכללית. אבל צריך להיות זהיר. היציאה מהמים מלווה בתחושה מוזרה. המים האילו לא מקררים את הגוף והגוף בתגובה מתחיל להזיע באופן מוגבר. בסופו של דבר כשהזעה מתיבשת אתה נשאר מצופה בשיכבה של מלח. אם יש לך פצע טרי או אפילו שריטה זה עלול להיות לא נעים. אני נשרטתי בתוך במים כששחיתי.

לכן צריך למצוא חוף שקיימת בו אפשרות להישטף אחרי היציאה מהמיים. בחופים מוסדרים, כמו חוף עין גדי, יש מיקלחות על החוף (שחיתי בפעם הראשונה בים המלח בחוף זה. אפשר גם להוריד את בגד הים אבל מומלץ לעשות זאת במרחק מה משאר האנשים או בערב לצאת לשחיה לילית בעירום) בחופים פיראים של לודא שיש מעין של מיים מתוקים בחוף. מעינות מתוקים זה משהו שלא ציפיתי למצא בחופי ים המלח אבל החופים לא כולם חסופים בחלקם יש צימחיה והרי צמחים זקוקים למים מתוקים.

אכן המים המתוקים נמצאים לא רק מתחת לפני הקרקע. אפשר למצוא מעינות ובריכת מים מתוקים על החוף.

לא תמיד המעיונת נובעים. צריך לשאול מקומי על נקודות בהם יש זרימה או פשוט לתור בעצמך את החוף. הבריכה הזאת ממש מזמינה והטבילה בה היתה מרעננת.

הנוף הנישקף מהברכיה עצמה.

במקרה אחד כשירדתי לבריכה היא היתה מלאה בתירים בריטים, כולם בביגדי רחצה. הם נאבקו נואשות לנקות את עצמם ואת הבגדים בעודם לבושים וזה רק החיף את כמות החול וחלוקי הנחל שנכנסו לתוך הבגדים. בבדיחות הדעת אמרתי להם שזאת הסיבה שאני לא לובש דבר (למען האמת לא היתי מודע לבעיה הזאת של רחיצה בבגדים) בחור אחד נדלק על הרעיון והוא חייך אליי. אני חייכתי חזרה ומהר מאוד התברר שהוא רוצה משהו מעבר לזה. כשהחבורה עזבה את המקום הוא נשאר כדי להיתנקות בצורה יותר יסודית. הוא ואני נשארנו לבד בבריכה. מבלי להיתמהמה הוא החל לשלוח ידים. אני סרבתי ואמרתי לו שאני לא בקטע. בעינו העירום התפרש כהזמנה למין כאן עכשיו ומייד. החברה שלי סיפרה לי שהיא הוטרדה במקום מספר פעמים על ידי גבר חרדי שיושב ליד הבריכה (לבוש כמובן) וארב לנשים הבאות לשם לירחוץ בעירום. התנהגות וגסות כזו אפשר למצוא גם במגזר החילוני המערבי.

אפרופו בוץ – ים המלח מפוסם בבוץ שלו בעל סגולות המרפא ותיקון פגעי הזמן. הבוץ אף נמכר בעולם כתכשיר קוסמטי. ים המלח מתיבש ומצתמק. אחת הסיבות לכך היא כריית המלחים, המינרלים והבוץ מהים לצרכים כלכליים. סיבה נוספת היא הטיית מי הירדן להשקיה וצימצום כמות המים המגיעים בסופו של דבר לים המלח. הדרך הטובה והיעילה ביותר להשתמש בבוץ היא פשוט להגיע לים, לחפון בוץ טרי ועשיר במינרלים ולמרוח אותו על הגוף כולו (אל תפספס אף נקודה ;-)) ואז הישטף במי הים.

 

רוב היום היתי לבד בחוף דומם ורגוע יושב בצל השיחים מתבונן בגונים המדהימים בטן גב ים בריכה.

לקראת ערב פגשתי בחור נחמד. זן נדיר של היפי בין זמנינו. הוא סיפר לי שהוא מגיע למקום באופן קבוע ושוהה שם מספר שבועות באוהל המאולתר שלו. מזג האויר הקיצי בישראל מאפשר שהות בטבע מציוד בקמעט כלום.

הפתיע אותי שהיה לו אוכל מועט. הוא אכל בעיקר מה שמבקרים אחרים השאירו לו (גם אצלי זה כך).
מאוחר יותר הצטרף אילנו בחור הזוי נוסף. תייר אוסטרלי מצוייד בכלי אוסטרלי ענק. ההיפי הציע להראות לי בריכות נוספות אבל חששתי לפספס את האוטובוס האחרון. שני בחורים נוספים וכלבתם הידידותית שהו אף הם בחוף. התעניינתי אם הם יכולים לעזור לי, עם האוטו שלהם, בדרכם הביתה, להגיע למקום שממנו אוכל להסתדר בכוחות עצמי. הם הסכימו. דרך אגב הכלבה שלהם ניסתה לבצע צלילה במים המלוחים. אוי… לקח לה פעמים להבין שזה רעין לא כל כך מוצלח לצרוב את הענים והפה במים האילה. ההיפי הוביל אותי לבריכות לאורך החוף. לחלק מהבריכות היה צבע משונה ירוק עז ולבן ירקרק. האדמה שם היתה לא יציבה פריכה וקימחית. הכל נראה כמו לא מהעולם הזה. אני כנראה לא היתי מעז ללכת לשם לבדי.

כשחזרנו כבר התחיל להחשיך. החושך יורד מהר מאוד. לשימחתי זוג הבחורים וכלבתם היה עדיין שם. נודע לי שיש הקבלה בין ללכת על המים של איתן פוקס לבין צמד הבחורים, ערבי פלסטינאי ויהודי (מאירלנד) מתגוררים יחדיו בירושלים. בניגוד לסרט אין שום דבר מסעיר בחייהם. זה נגע ללב לראות את הסיפור הזה מתממש בחים האמיתיים. בסופו של דבר הם לקחו אותי חזרה לקיבוץ ומשם לירושלים לביתם. שהיתי שם מספר שעות בחיפוש אחר מונית שרות זולה (לא ידעתי שיש דבר כזה) לשדה התעופה לטיסה שלי שיצאה מוקדם בבוקר. איזה טיול

נפלא. ביקרתי במקומות מקסימם ופגשתי אנשים נפלאים.

WNBR NYC 2014

World Naked Bike Ride will gather thousands of cyclists in many cities of the Northern Hemisphere to promote cycling as a mode of urban transportation, as well as body acceptance. The dress code is “as bare as you dare”, but in my opinion being naked is the best way to get the message across: cyclists use the power of human body for commuting in the city – so, show that body! – and yet we are the ones who are most prone to the truly indecent exposure to the traffic and vehicle pollution. In most cities, the ride will be held on Saturday, 14 June, but in New York City, it’s on Friday the 13th. This will be a hell of a fun ride: an awesome way to finish off the work week, to say the least! You can see my reports from WNBR in NYC last year and 2012, as well as from Madrid in 2009; Philly Naked Bike Ride is in August, and with 3500 participants last year is the biggest one I’ve participated. Although I don’t know the reasons why WNBR is held on a different day here in New York than in most the rest of the Northern Hemisphere, I’m glad that it’s on Friday, because it lets me go for the weekend to yet another amazing event.

Free Form Festival brings together the vast East-Coast creative arts community from 12-16 June at at The Schuylkill County Fairgrounds, Pennsylvania. With its aim to “increase diversity in our local artistic landscape”, it will surely be interesting and fun, and by the way, it is an officially clothing-optional event too! Tickets are still on sale and may be purchased by clicking here. Who else is going?

I’m also looking forward to ‘Bouncing Buns‘ 7k Trail Race in Pennsylvania for American Cancer Society on the 21st of June. 7km is the longest distance that I’ve seen for a naked or clothing-optional race – it’s good to be challenged, moreover for a good cause. Well, in 2012, I passed the challenge pretty well, coming in third! I ran a bit faster last year, but with fiercer competition, I had only 7th result. This year, I cannot hope to run faster, as I’m still not 100% recovered after my ankle injury, but will I have less fun? Of course not! With 150 or so naturist folks of all shapes and ages, everybody can feel comfortable in their own skin. However, I’m going with a couple of fellows again, and it doesn’t hurt to have some healthy competition, just like with the friends in ‘Team America’ that I got to know last year. The event is organized by Pretzel City Sports and you can register for the race at their website: $25 before June 9, $32 after. Part of your registration fee will support American Cancer Society, and afterwards you get an opportunity to hang out at Sunny Rest naturist resort, where the trail race will take place. It’s a great opportunity to run just the way you like. The event is clothing-optional, and we’ll certainly opt for the style of the [authentic] Olympic runners 😉 Also, if you have any doubts about running naked, have a look at my brief overview that links running and our naturally naked (furless) body from an evolutionary perspective – I hope it’ll make sense to you. Besides participating in the race, we also plan to do some yoga at Sunny Rest, as well as play badminton and volleyball.

Last but not least, as the beach season has commenced, it’s worth mentioning that there is a Groupon sale for the Seastreak ferry from Manhattan to Sandy Hook beach: $25 instead of regular $45. Unfortunately, unlike in previous years, there is no $30 coupon on Seastreak’s website, and you can only get one groupon ticket…
