When I moved to New York, I was pleasantly surprised to find several locations where nudity is officially fine, just tolerated or that are just secluded enough to be brave and naked. I’ve described just a few so far: N40 Natural Area, Jacob Riis Park beach and Fort Tilden within NYC boundaries, Jones Beach and the Lighthouse beach further on Long Island, or Fire Island, to be precise; Pines of Fire Island; Gunnison Beach at the edge of the infamous Jersey Shore; then there is a beautiful forest with lakes of Harriman State Park not far from NYC; other places will be added soon, stay tuned!
On top of that, there are two groups, Young Naturists America and Vita Nuda North-East, that regularly throw naked events that are a lot of fun, such Nude Year’s Eve. Travasuns kick naked indoor pool parties in Long Island. And guess what is was the longest running off-Broadway musical? Naked Boys Singing! (Apparently I saw the pre-last season of this 13-year production.) Naked Holidays has become a regular off-Broadway show for Christmas – New Year season.
There is also a couple of naked yoga studios. I’ve visited only two of those so far: Zensual Yoga (no longer operational) and Naked! in Motion. We also have our own naked yoga group that operates as friends and friends of friends, but contact us by e-mail if you’re interested. We went for a retreat at the Woods campground and plan more! And of course, we proudly run a nude dance class on weekly basis – NuDance!
